Ian Peter MacDonald, chairman of the West Highland Museum, said he was delighted that Museums and Galleries Scotland has awarded a sum to support an education officer for the West Highland Museum in Fort William.
The map, which was delivered after detailed conservation work and so will be preserved for another 360 years, is expected to be on display before Easter.
Museums Galleries Scotland is the national development body for museums and galleries in Scotland and offers strategic development support to the sector.

The gallery is being developed further, and in August, the St Andrews team was finally able to travel to Fort William to work on 3D reconstructions of some of the 100 objects.
