Home-Start Lorn needs you – volunteers are all ages, male and female, with many different backgrounds and experiences – you don’t need to be a parent to help make a difference to families needing support
Frustrations are growing though with the UK government for ‘dragging its heels’ over processing the mountain of visa applications that will undoubtedly be piling up on civil servants’ desks – each one will be a desperate plea for safety and sanctuary.
The befriending service is about offering social support to help people re-connect with their community, get them out socialising and help build up any confidence that might have been lost due to illness. If there’s anyone who can’t get out then a befriender can offer company at home

Just like the charity’s lifeboats, the RNLI’s retail team need a dedicated volunteer crew –
people of all ages and abilities – who can give a little time.
