Robert Macintyre’s late season troubles continued at the weekend with another missed cut, this time on home soil at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in St Andrews.
A huge performance is required in Ohio this weekend to get him back into contention for a top 25 place.
Bob will tee off at 12:17 today along with Austrian Matthias Schwab.
A place on Padraig Harrington’s 2021 Ryder Cup team is also a possibility but not one that Bob is looking at to closely at the current time.
With his parents Dougie and Carol watching on from the galleries, Bob signed off on the 18th green with one final, momentous birdie to finish with a level par 72 and guarantee a return visit to the Augusta National in 2022.
The 24-year-old Obanite will tee off this evening, along with American Tony Finau, at 7pm BST after posting the best round of any British golfer.
Bob was the only one in his group to move on to weekend play, his opening-day 74 combining with yesterday’s score leaving him at even par for the Tournament.
