It was 12 hours later at 3:51pm, that the crew pagers sounded once again, after a seven-metre rib with five people and a dog on board, broke down in the Duirinish area and drifted onto the rocky shoreline.
It appears that the chain had snapped, however the yacht was safely recovered without any visible damage
The lifeboat was launched after the dive boat suffered mechanical failure
in Loch Alsh, and drifted away from the dive area resulting in the group needing
assistance when the divers surfaced.
A Kyle RNLI spokesperson said: ‘The fishing boat was shooting creels from the stern,
when one of the ropes became entangled in the propeller. Due to the bad VHF
reception in the area, the fisherman fired off a red emergency flare to raise the alarm’.
