Former Kilmallie and Fort William shinty player Hugh MacMaster presented Shinty Memories Scotland with a cheque for £7,500 as part of the proceeds raised at a special charity day organised at Craigie Hill Golf Club in August.
At the August meeting of Kilmallie Community Council, chairman John Hutchison described news of the appeal as ‘disappointing’.
Each ascent was successfully completed and the group had the added advantage of being able to enjoy the spectacular views, with none of the usual mist and rain.
An initial meeting is due to be held today (Thursday) and as well as Kilmallie Community Council secretary Russell Leaper attending, there will also be representatives from the two community councils covering Caol, Fort William, Inverlochy and Torlundy.
Community council secretary Russell Leaper said some of those attending the online event were expecting to be given details of an Environmental Impact Assessment [EIA] as part of the process.
