Jenni Minto for the SNP and Donald Cameron for the Conservatives have disagreed over Scotland’s gross domestic product were it an independent country.
‘Those who live here know what is best for their communities and that is the message I take with me to Holyrood.’
The Islay resident won the vote in the constituency with 16,608 votes, an increased majority of 8,963 over the Conservatives.
Jenni Minto, who was born in Elgin and grew up in St Andrews, was chosen by SNP members in Argyll and Bute.
