The much-needed funds raised are going directly to the Disaster Emergency Committee for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, to help provide Ukrainian refugees with essentials such as medical supplies, food, clothing, blankets and accommodation.
Lochaber Rotary Club is among those who have donated money, giving £500 to help with the costs of staging the concert.
Fergie, 83, who lives at Mingarry near Acharacle, said he was ‘humbled’ by the award which was in recognitions of his services to Scottish traditional music in a career spanning almost 70 years.
The band is made up of stalwarts from the traditional music scene, equally at home touring the great stages of the world as performing in the local village hall.
The half-hour episodes will feature six songs, with each programme given to a pair of musicians to curate.
