According to Highland Council, the community council is able to ask anyone to leave a meeting, or prevent someone from speaking at a meeting, if the individual is being ‘disruptive or abusive’.
The issue was also raised at this week’s monthly meeting of Fort William Inverlochy & Torlundy Community Council.
In a statement on the topic, Fort William Inverlochy and Torlundy Community Council said it would welcome improvements to the area’s current trunk road network.
The next meeting of the FWCC is on Tuesday August 20.
The council held a meeting recently at An Drochaid, Claggan, on Tuesday January 15.
Public toilets were on the council’s agenda.
Fort William Community Council has been reformed after being dissolved for a year, holding its inaugural meeting last week.
Interim elections will be held for 13 areas across the Highlands, including Fort William, Morvern, Caol and Acharacle.
