Johan Van Der Wal, 32, was more than four times over the legal limit when he drove south on the A816 Oban to Lochgilphead road on November 15 last year
A custodial sentence along with alternatives will be considered, said Sheriff Patrick Hughes.
Joshua Jamieson, 22, of Lerags Beag, Lerags, appeared at Oban Sheriff Court on December 18 and admitted having 68 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the prescribed limit of 22 micrograms.
Donald Samuel Campbell, of 9 Shuna Terrace, Soroba, pleaded guilty to drink driving.
Over the next fortnight, officers will be conducting high visibility patrols and roadside checks to detect those driving under the influence of drink or drugs.
