While some school rolls in the local area were said to be at 90 percent capacity, St Columba’s has asked us to make clear this does not include St Columba’s.
Councillor Ben Thompson (Caol and Mallaig) told the meeting that the last time the Lochaber High associated schools group rolls were reported to councillors was three years ago or four years ago when they were at 90 percent capacity.
A bid for funding projects in Skye was not successful, and council officers are now exploring other potential opportunities for the projects proposed in this bid.
An initial meeting is due to be held today (Thursday) and as well as Kilmallie Community Council secretary Russell Leaper attending, there will also be representatives from the two community councils covering Caol, Fort William, Inverlochy and Torlundy.
Members feel the suggested names ‘lack imagination’.
Developers hope to have the site completed and open by September 2020.
