Highland Council has granted Mowi permission for a £15M upgrade to its Blar Mhor plant, transforming it into ‘one of the most efficient and highest capacity fish processing facilities in the world’

Councillor Ben Thompson (Caol and Mallaig) told the meeting that the last time the Lochaber High associated schools group rolls were reported to councillors was three years ago or four years ago when they were at 90 percent capacity.
A bid for funding projects in Skye was not successful, and council officers are now exploring other potential opportunities for the projects proposed in this bid.
An initial meeting is due to be held today (Thursday) and as well as Kilmallie Community Council secretary Russell Leaper attending, there will also be representatives from the two community councils covering Caol, Fort William, Inverlochy and Torlundy.
