COX – Peacefully after a short illness, at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, on July 21, 2022, Janice Cox in her 75th year, of Kelvindale Road, Glasgow. Formerly of Oban and Rothesay. Retired Bank Officer for the Clydesdale Bank. Elder daughter of the late Bryce and Nancy Cox. Dearly loved sister of Morna (Shaw), much respected sister-in-law of Donald. Adored auntie of Niall, Jenna and Laura. A very proud great-auntie. A loyal friend and respected former work colleague to many. A graveside service will be held at Pennyfuir Cemetery, Oban today at 12noon. All friends are respectfully invited to attend.
DOUGLAS – Peacefully (without a fuss) at the Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban on July 26, 2022 in his 84th year, Donald MacCormick Douglas (Donnie), beloved Pops to his children and grandchildren, a dearly loved brother and uncle and good friend to all that knew him.
MACKINNON – Peacefully at Etive House Care Home, Benderloch on Thursday, July 28, 2022, Isobel MacDonald, much loved wife of Kenneth MacKinnon, 19 Hazeldean Crescent, Oban and devoted mother of Kenneth and Gordon. A funeral service will be held at Oban Parish Church, 12 noon on Thursday, August 11 to which all friends are invited.
MENZIES – (née MacIsaac). Peacefully on July 30, 2022 at Etive House Care Home, Benderloch; Effie, aged 77 years, loving wife of Tommy, mother to Irene, Robert and David, much loved granny to Kirsty, Ryan and Effie. A funeral service will be held in Oban Parish Church at 12 noon followed by interment at Pennyfuir Cemetery on Tuesday, August 9 to which all friends are invited. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers to Alzheimer Scotland.
DUNSMORE – June and family would like to thank everyone for all their kind expressions of sympathy and support following the very sad loss of Alex. Thank you to all who paid their respects at the church and graveside. Special thanks to Rev. David Scott for his comforting service and fitting eulogy. Sincere thanks to Ian and Shiralene of D&A Munn for the caring and compassionate organising of funeral arrangements. Thanks to Soroba House for lovely hospitality and to Petals for the beautiful floral tribute. The sum of £413.45 was raised for Christian Aid.
SPALDING – The Spalding family would like to express sincere thanks to all family, friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy following the loss of our dear mum Betty. Thanks also to Rev Liz Gibson for the beautiful service; the organist, George Cringles for lovely music and Petals for the lovely flowers. Thanks to Dalmally Community Centre for food and refreshments. Lastly thanks to D & A Munn Funeral Directors for their caring and compassionate handling of the funeral.
