A powerful innings by opener Pal Dhami allowed Forres St Lawrence Cricket Club to set an unbeatable total in Saturday’s Highland Club NoSCA Senior League against Fort Augustus.
Playing at the Abbey ground, league challengers Forres went in to bat first with Dhami hitting 164 before being caught by Ronan Blakey off an Ash Anjum ball. Steady batting by the middle order saw the visitors go in 280 for 10 from their 40 overs.
In contrast, a 26 from Fort’s Ross Laven was the best the hosts could come up with, their total of 134 all out giving Forres the victory by 146 runs.
After a promising start, Fort are now fourth in the league and will be looking to address their latest defeats when they welcome table toppers Northern Counties to the Abbey on Saturday August 13.
