Mallaig and Morar Highland Games will be held in Lovat Field this weekend with a packed programme of piping, Highland dancing, heavy and track and field events for adults and juniors.

The weekend kicks off with the games dance on Saturday night with music provided by FRAS and the Riska Ceilidh Band and Friends.

The games open at noon on Sunday August 7. Chieftain this year is singer and presenter Michele McManus and visitors are being encouraged to go along and welcome her.

Organisers are looking forward to hearing Mallaig, Ardnamurchan and District Pipe Band performing as well as welcoming the competitors who make this traditional day so special.

A new trophy will be up for grabs this year. The Mowi Women’s Cross Country Trophy will be presented to the winner of the Women’s Cross Country race, confined to locals or the children of locals.

A great day out is promised with something to keep all ages entertained.
