Four siblings who grew up on Lismore reunited at the island’s agricultural show last Saturday, the fifth after a two-year break during Covid lockdowns.
Left to right: Duncan ‘Tobermory’ MacCormick, aged 83; Cathie Carmichael, née MacCormick, 87; Gregor ‘Biffo’ MacCormick, 81, and Donnie MacCormick, 85.
All four are fluent Gaelic speakers and singers. Donnie and Gregor also play the accordion and played in a second show of their own in the evening.
‘It was a tremendous day,’ said Donnie, who gave out the prizes. ‘It is Cathie’s grandson who organises it.’
Thanking everyone who helped, organiser Neil Carmichael, a contender for the event’s busiest man, said: ‘It is great to see everyone enjoying themselves.’
