BOYD – CUNNINGHAM – On Saturday, April 9, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Church, Colgagh, Calry, Sligo, Iain son of Iain and Isobel Boyd, Seo-nis, Connel, to Miriam daughter of Martin and Anne Cunningham, Colgagh, Calry, Sligo.
O’DONNELL – MACCOLL – Congratulations to Craig Angus O’Donnell and Julie MacColl who were married on June 10, 2022 at the Isle of Mull Rugby Club, Garmony, Mull. Craig is the younger son of Eddie and Sheena O’Donnell of Salen, Mull, and Julie is the older daughter of Alastair and Janet MacColl of Portuairk, Ardnamurchan. It was a very happy day and lots of love and best wishes for the future are sent to the new Mr. & Mrs. O’Donnell.
BANNERMAN – Chrissie (née Dick) at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on Monday, July 4, 2022. Mrs C. Bannerman (formerly of Jordanhill and St Andrews Colleges). Dear wife of the late John, devoted mother of Kate, Seonaidh, Gilbert and the late Mary and Annag, and fondly remembered by their partners Peter, Michelle and Sheila, loving Granaidh of Carly, Lauren, John, Tina, Jackie and Iseabail, and Great-Granaidh of Ivy, Alex and Sofia. Funeral service at Buchanan Parish Church, Milton of Buchanan, July 20, at 12 noon, to which all friends are cordially invited. Family flowers please.
BARR – Peacefully after a long illness, at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, aged 60 years, Carol née Duffy, beloved wife of Brian Anthony Barr, a loving mother, sister, and aunt. Sadly missed.
BULLEN – Janet Clifford (née Hamer) (Edinburgh). Peacefully at The Manor, Edinburgh on July 2, 2022. A funeral service will be held at Warriston Crematorium, Cloister Chapel on Tuesday, July 19 at 11.30am.
CLARK – Peacefully at Eadar Glinn Care Home on the morning of Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in her 85th year, Marion (Morag) Clark, beloved wife of the late Alexander (Tom) Clark of Soroba, Oban. Loving mother of daughters Christine and Marion and sons Donald and Ivor. The funeral will take place at Oban Parish Church on Friday, July 15, at 12 noon and thereafter to Pennyfuir Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the Eadar Glinn Residents Comfort Fund.
GRIFFIN – Myra Griffin, née Strang, of Lerags, formerly of Camelon, Falkirk, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She leaves behind her husband Liam of 49 years, and two sons, Liam Jr. and Barry and four grandchildren, Keiran, Hannah, Aoife and Ossian. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Strathcarron Hospice, where Myra was medical secretary for many years.
KISBY – Suddenly but peacefully in Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy on Saturday, July 2, 2022, Britt aged 82 years. A much loved wife of the late Peter, fabulous mum of Sean, Simon and Mark and a proud grandmother. Funeral service to be held at Coop Funeralcare, 20 Esplanade, Kirkcaldy on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 3pm, interment thereafter at Drimnatorran Cemetery, Strontian on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 12 noon to which all family and friends are respectfully invited.
McFARLANE – James A. Tragically, as a result of an accident on July 2, 2022, James A. McFarlane, Islay, loving husband of Donalda, father of the late Archie, Sheila, Fiona and Susan, beloved grandfather and great-grandfather of the family. Funeral arrangements later.
BRODIE – The Brodie family would like to thank everyone for their expressions of sympathy and support at the time of their recent sad loss. To all the kind and faithful friends and neighbours who helped Sheena during the latter years of Murdo’s life, including doctors and staff at Dalmally Surgery and Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban. The exceptional and dedicated nursing and care staff at Moss Park Care Home and doctors at Craig Mhor Medical Centre, Fort William for providing a comfortable and safe haven to the last. Hamish Hoey undertakers for taking care of all funeral arrangements. Aileen Binner for such an uplifting and personal service, Alasdair MacDonald for playing Murdo’s choice of music in church and Iain MacIntyre for piping at the graveside. Finally, the kind ladies at Dalmally Community Centre for their excellent catering.
CLARK – Margaret and all the family would like to thank everyone for all the love and support they have received following the death of Gordon. Thank you to all our family, friends and neighbours for the many cards, beautiful flowers, and meals that we have received. Thank you to all the nursing staff at both Raigmore Hospital and the Belford Hospital and Fort William Ambulance Service. A special thank you to Sheelagh and the Macmillan Nurses for the care and support shown to the family and Gordon over the recent months. Also, to the Fort William Community Nurses and Palliative Care Doctors for their support and professionalism. We would also like to thank John, Amanda and Peter from John McLellan Funeral Directors for their kindness and professionalism before and during the service, Shiona Neilson for the beautiful flowers and Alyson Stewart for conducting the service, Meg, Liz and all the staff at the Railway Club for the funeral tea. Finally, thank you to everyone who paid their last respects at the service, especially those who travelled to be with our family. The sum of £301.10 was raised and will be donated to the Fort William Community Nurses.
MACDONALD – In loving memory of our darling son Brian, a loving Dad, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and grand-uncle, died July 15, 2020.
