FIFW League table July 10.

The penultimate session of the Nevis Centre based Football in Fort William (FIFW) saw only three games played due to call-offs, although each of the six teams more than made up for that with some close run matches on display.

Each game was hard fought with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship with the final results often going against the run of play.

In the first match, Lochaber Rugby beat Kinlochleven FC by nine goals to four, although it wasn’t as easy for the victors as the score would suggest.

Top of the league SLT Galacticos also didn’t have it all their own way, especially in the early stages, but came out ahead scoring 10 to Seagull City’s 5.

The final match of the evening saw the age and experience of The Goon Squad just pulling it off by seven goals to six against the higher energy levels and staying power of the much younger Hamilton Alchies line-up with the winning goal coming close to the whistle.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Nevis Centre on Sunday July 17 when the efforts of everyone who has taken part will be recognised.
