CHALMERS – CARROLL – On Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Kilninver Parish Church, Myrtle Chalmers, daughter of James and Myrtle McCulloch, formerly of Pulpit Hill to Robert Ian Carroll, son of Hannah and Robert Carroll, Seaburn.
DONALD – Suddenly in Summerlee Care Home, Coatbridge on Monday, June 28, 2022. Morann Donald, formerly of St Annes, Dunollie Road, Oban and Morvern Hill, Soroba, Oban. Beloved wife of the late Norman and loving mother of daughters Eileen, Norma, Claire and son Peter, mother-in-law to John, Donald, James, and much loved granny to Katie, Scott, Amy, Liam and Gemma. The funeral will take place at St Columba’s Cathedral on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 10.00am and thereafter to Pennyfuir Cemetery, to which all are respectfully invited.
OLSEN – Inger died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Much loved mother and grandmother. Cremation on Tuesday, July 26 at Bentley Crematorium, Brentwood, Essex. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Cancer Research UK.
MACCALLUM – Peacefully at home Kinloch, Benderloch surrounded by family on Friday, July 1, 2022 in her 91st year, Elizabeth MacCallum beloved wife of the late Donald MacCallum (Donnie Bealach), former school music teacher. Funeral service at St Modan’s Church, Benderloch on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 1 p.m., thereafter to Achnaba Cemetery.
MACINTYRE – Suddenly after a short illness, at the Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead on June 30, 2022, Agnes (Nan) MacIntyre, née Sinclair, in her 97th year, of 3 McCracken Court, Lochgilphead and formerly of 2 Tigh An Ur, Kilchrenan. Beloved wife of the late Eachann MacIntyre, much loved mother of Iain, Margaret and the late Jim. Loving Granny of Emma, Allan and Ewen, and great-granny of James, Finlay and Elsie. A respected mother-in-law. A dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt and cousin to all the family. Funeral service will be held in Kilchrenan Parish Church on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 12noon thereafter to Kilchrenan Cemetery. Flowers welcome. Donations, if desired, to PDSA. All friends are respectfully invited to attend.
SCOBIE – Peacefully at Cowal Community Hospital, Dunoon on July 2, 2022, Jane Cameron Scobie, née Gray, in her 83rd year. Late of Ardenlea Care Home, Dunoon, and formerly of Caledonia, Tarbert Road, Ardrishaig, Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Scobie (Former Chief Engineer, Merchant Navy). A loving aunt, great-aunt, cousin and sister-in-law. A very proud and cherished godmother. A good neighbour and a very loyal and kind friend to many. Funeral service will be held at Cardross Crematorium on Thursday, July 14 at 11.15am. Donations to RNLI. All friends are respectfully invited to attend.
CAMERON – The family of the late Colin wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and the wider community for the overwhelming kindness and support shown to them during this sad time. A special thanks to the team at Strachur Medical Practice for their care and attention, to Rev D. Wallace for a lovely service, Kate Paton for piping, Lynda, Chloe and the team at Caladh Funeral Services for their professional service, Woodland Florist, Eliot at Argyll Print & Design, Strachur and District and Dunoon Shinty Clubs and all those who helped with arrangements at the Memorial Hall. Many thanks to all who made donations. The sum of £1,260 was raised and will be split between the fund for an ECG Machine at Strachur Medical Practice and Cancer Research.
MACKAY – The MacKay family would like to thank those who attended John’s funeral service and also for all the help and support, cards, flowers and the edible contributions given by family, friends and neighbours. Thanks also to Lorn Medical Centre and specialist sectors at Lorn and Islands hospital. Appreciation to D. Gunn and D&A Munn, Amanda and staff at the Argyllshire Gathering, Petals and Aly who conducted the service, also Emma McPhee accordionist and piper Gregor Mcdonald. An incredible sum of £923 was raised on the day for Cancer Research UK. The family will increase this to £1000. Thank you all so much.
SILKOWSKI – (Les). Issy, Kenneth, Gordon and all the Silkowski Family would like to thank all friends and family who paid their respects to Les at the service in Grantown on Spey and interment at Delliefure Natural Burial Ground, as well as all those who attended his Celebration of Life service in Appin. We also thank Rev Dugald Cameron for conducting the Appin service; to Tom; Hendry and Sarah for their moving tributes and the Appin Hall Committee and all the local bakers who donated food to the hall. Monetary donations made at both events for Search and Rescue Dogs Association Scotland and Kintail Mountain Rescue Team amounted to £1450 and we would also thank those who made donations direct to these causes via their websites.
BROWN – Remembering with love a very dear mum, gran and great-gran Annie, who passed away on July 4, 2002 also my dear father Lachlan passed away on July 2, 1972.
