A plan has been submitted to build three more homes on the Isle of Colonsay in a bid to address the lack of local housing.
Previously Argyll and Bute Council granted planning permission for an initial phase of nine affordable homes on Colonsay, with more to follow.
This year Colonsay Community Development Company (CCDC) has applied to build plots five, six and 12 on the land west of Hazel Cottage, Scalasaig.
The Scottish Land Fund awarded CCDC £390,000 to purchase land on which to build much-needed affordable homes and business units.
The CCDC’s website explains: ‘We are planning to build one three bedroom and three two bedroom for affordable rent, one two bedroom and one three bedroom low cost ownership, as well as offering three serviced, low-cost plots for self-build opportunities.
‘There will also be two business units, possibly one for workshop and one for studio space.’
