ANSELL – Joyce died peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 after a short illness. A private farewell with family will take place on Friday, July 1 in Portsmouth, to where she had recently moved. In lieu of flowers Joyce requested donations be made to Mary’s Meals.
MACKAY – John George. On June 22, 2022, aged 72 years, peacefully at home after a short illness surrounded by family. Much-loved husband, dad, granddad, brother, uncle and friend. Funeral on Friday, July 1, 1pm at Argyllshire Gathering Halls and thereafter Pennyfuir Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Cancer Research UK.
MACNIVEN – On June 20, 2022, at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow with her loving family by her side, Jacqueline Mary (Jackie) née Felgate, aged 67 years, beloved wife of Gordon MacNiven, a much loved and adored mum to Dawn and Michael. A loving granny to Rhian, Duncan, Nicola, Noah, and Emmy. Cherished sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and aunt.
MACCALLUM – John Campbell MacCallum – (Piper) Kinlochleven/Ballachulish. Mairi and Tony wish to convey their sincerest appreciation for the expressions of sympathy and kindness shown towards them following the recent sad loss of John. Our heartfelt thanks to all who attended church and graveside and to those who sent condolence messages, cards, flowers, made phone calls and other gestures of emotional and practical support. We are extremely grateful to you all. We offer our special thanks to the family of staff at Abbeyfield Ballachulish for their dedication, care, professionalism, and humour which they conveyed in so many ways to John and ourselves during his final weeks affording him precious time with family and friends for which we will be forever grateful. Sincere thanks to Rev. Malcolm Kinnear for his comforting spiritual service, Ms. Ena McAngus for the beautiful musical accompaniment and Major Janet MacIntyre of the Salvation Army for her fitting tribute and unwavering support. “Tapadh leat” to Piper Audrey Barnett for playing all John’s final requests with such sensitivity and professionalism. Many thanks to The Holly Tree Hotel, Kentallen and Crafts and Things, Glencoe for purveying and their hospitality; to McDonald Brothers of Inverlochy for their stunning floral tributes. We are especially thankful to James and Gayle MacCorquodale and David MacKay of CCP Haulage; to Donnie Main and the former drivers of the KRT for their own fitting and personal tributes to John, and in the carrying of one final load. Our gratitude is also expressed to Scott and David at Greenlees & Son Funeral Directors for their support, guidance, and professional arrangements. Finally, a sincere thank you to all who generously donated in John’s memory £542.06 to Abbeyfield Ballachulish. Mairi & Tony – Allanbreck, Lettermore, Ballachulish.
NUDDS – The family of the late Betty Nudds would like to thank everyone for the support and kindness, cards and flowers following Betty’s death. Thanks to Dr Buchanan in Lochaline, staff at Belford Hospital and Carr Gomm for their care. Also to Rev. George Cringles, organist Elizabeth Cringles and Catherine MacGillivray for making the service special. We thank Catriona and staff at Hoeys for all funeral arrangements.
