Upper Achintore Regeneration Group (UARG) has been recognised for its efforts to make improvements in its area of Fort William with the presentation of an award from the national tenant and landlord participation advisory service TPAS Scotland.
UARG got the runner-up award for Best Practice in Community Development and TPAS Scotland commented: ‘Absolutely delighted this group received this as they have worked so hard for their area and the award is well deserved.’
A very pleased UARG chairman Mark Linfield told the Lochaber Times: ‘It was presented at the TPAS annual conference.
‘Our group was delighted to have been nominated for an award by Highland Council’s Tenant Participation Team.
‘To be runners-up in the whole of Scotland is a credit to how hard the group have been working over the last couple of years.
‘We continue working towards improving our area and look forward to more of our residents becoming involved. Our group covers from Grange Road to Perth Place.’
