Your local Chamber of Commerce is currently undertaking an employment mapping exercise with members and the wider Lochaber business community, including private, public and third-sector organisations, to better understand the workforce spread across our collective region; sector-based, looking at the split of economically active and inactive.

This data collection will help Lochaber Chamber of Commerce be better informed on employer constraints with regards to employment, adding to what we already know to be significant areas of impact including cost of living, housing and transport factors.

Additionally, we want to ensure that we have the data and understanding to cement ourselves as a major voice within the wider Scottish Chambers of Commerce network, lobbying for improved economic welfare in Lochaber, the Highlands and being a relevant voice more than ever which allows us to work with key partners for a prosperous Lochaber future.

We are collectively home to a wealth of fascinating and quality industries which represent a high percentage of economically active individuals regionally and have an active small and medium-sized business network from trades to retail and so much more. Lochaber is an incredibly special place in Scotland and we are committed to ensuring a strong voice is heard at a national level as we lobby government and stakeholders for improvements.

If you are an employer in Lochaber, we urge you to complete our survey and contribute to this important conversation by accessing our online form by Wednesday 22 June 22 at https://forms.gle/VjHTwuvzhDSRqXtb7
