Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation’s beacon was lit at 9.45pm on Thursday at the same time as 3,000 or so others across the UK.

For maximum visibility organisers chose to site it on Tom Biorach above Spean Bridge, by kind permission of Jahama Highland Estates and the MacColl Family of Insh Farm.

The beacon was lent by the Royal British Legion in Fort William, hence the WWI commemorative metalwork.
