To celebrate Scottish Bus Week this week West Coast Motors put its wheels in motion to join the #lovemybus national campaign, which runs from May 23-29.

#lovemybus promotes sustainable travel and highlights how buses can be a solution for tackling the challenges we face – improving our health, reducing pressure on the NHS, tackling inequalities and climate change, creating green jobs and strengthening our economy.

In welcoming Glasgow Citybus and its parent company West Coast Motors as partners last Wednesday, Jess Pepper of #lovemybus said: ‘It is fantastic to welcome West Coast Motors and Glasgow Citybus to the #lovemybus partnership.

‘The creativity, experience and passionate commitment of the West Coast Motors team  to delivering lifeline bus services for people across rural, island and urban areas will  make a valuable contribution to the #lovemybus programme.

‘We are excited to work with West Coast Motors to celebrate Scottish Bus  Week, with school visits in their area with our youth programme, to talk about the  benefits of bus and hear from local children what they love about bus.’

Sharon Morrison, communications director at West Coast Motors, said: ‘We’re delighted to join #lovemybus campaign and hope through working with Jess and the team we can increase awareness of the many health, lifestyle and green benefits of using bus in both Glasgow and the west coast.’

As well as regular bus services in Glasgow and Argyll and Bute, West Coast Motors also operates leisure tours on the West Coast and City Sightseeing Glasgow open top tours.

In May 2021, West Coast Motors, in partnership with HITRANS and The Routing  Company, launched Pingo, an on-demand, app-enabled transport service that offers  safe, bespoke travel for those journeys not served by a scheduled bus service.
