Lochaber RFC players travelled over to Mull on Saturday for their first Sevens tournament of the year.

They faced some tough opposition in the group with semi professional FOSROC Super Six teams Stirling County and Boroughmuir alongside an invitational team the Northern Warriors.

First up Lochaber faced Stirling County and put in a great shift narrowly losing 16-12 with tries coming from Callum Boyd and Jack Hamilton.

Boroughmuir showed their class in the second game running out 30-0 winners.

Lochaber then faced the Northern Warriors for third place in the group. Three tries from Jack  Hamilton, one try from Henry Hodges, one try from Lewis Morrison and one try from captain Callum MacDonald after a tap penalty on the halfway line which he ran in himself saw Lochaber win comfortably 34-7.

The tournament was won by the Hearts and Balls Charity Trust teams. Deserving winners of both Men’s and Women’s trophies.
