Dannin MacDonald and her pals are rocking the art of fundraising by painting and selling stones for charity.

Eight-year-old Dannin and friends have raised £140 so far for MND Scotland at their pop-up stall in McKelvie Road.

Dannin’s uncle Brian MacDonald, a well-known and much-liked retired firefighter,  died, aged 43, from the muscle-wasting condition.

Dannin’s dad John Bruce MacDonald said: ‘We are so proud of Dannin and her wee friends and all the other parents are too. They were playing outside and decided to make a stone shop. Then they decided to do it for charity and everyone agreed to raise money for MND for Dannin’s uncle Brian. We smiled when we heard that.

‘They made their stall out of crates, collected pebbles and all got painting and made posters. Before we knew it, neighbours were coming out, people were stopping in cars and friends and relatives were handing over donations and so far they have raised £140 for MND.

‘For girls so young, we couldn’t be prouder. Dannin’s Uncle Brian will be looking over them with a big smile, keeping his name going and doing him proud. Us, all the parents and the girls can’t thank all the people enough for their donations so far.’
