DEATHS
ANDERSON – Captain George Atholl Anderson (Merchant Navy) passed away peacefully at Templeton House Care Home on Sunday, April 24, 2022, aged 88, after a long illness. Beloved husband of the late Sandra Maureen Anderson. Much loved father of Arlene, father-in-law to Barrie and Granda to Lynsey, David, Rebekah and Andrew. Funeral will take place on Monday, May 9 at 14:45 at Masonhill Crematorium, McNairston Road, Ayr, South Ayrshire, KA6 6EN. Family requests donations to Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland and/or The Seafarers Charity in lieu of flowers.

DOUGLAS – William, 1931 – 2022, Fort William. Peacefully at Invernevis House Fort William, on April 24, 2022. Willie, age 90 and three quarters from Ardgour, devoted husband of the late Doreen, a much loved dad of the late Hazel, Alison, Roy and Keith, adoring granddad and great- granddad, uncle, brother-in-law, a caring neighbour and friend to many. The funeral service will be held at the Duncansburgh Church on Thursday, May 5 at 11.00am.

DUNCAN – Joey (Johanna) Duncan, formerly of Rowan Road, Oban, passed away peacefully at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on May 2, 2022 with her family at her bedside. A loving mum to Susanne, Deirdre and June, Granny to six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Will be sadly missed. Funeral arrangements to be confirmed.

MACKINNON – Peter George (Pedro). Peacefully at home in Strontian on Monday, May 2, 2022, aged 62. Beloved youngest son of Dinah and the late Jimmy (Claggan, Fort William), dearly loved husband of Janice, treasured Dad of Katie, Sara and Alex, and Grandpa to Fionn. Much loved brother, uncle and friend to many. Funeral arrangements to be confirmed by Manson & MacBeath, Inverlochy (01397 701110).

McKINLEY – William. Peacefully, on Saturday, April 23, 2022, William, son of the late Russell and Flora (née Johnson) of Port Ellen, Islay, much loved husband of Linda and brother of Kate, dad of Mairi and Alasdair, father-in-law of Scott and Alison and Papa of Thomas and George. Private family cremation. Service of Thanksgiving on Friday, May 13 at 11am at Cairns Church, Milngavie, to which all friends are invited. No flowers please. Donations, if desired, to Melanoma UK or Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.

SINCLAIR – On April 28, 2022, peacefully at home, John (Iain) Black Sinclair, in his 88th year, beloved husband of the late Anne (Nance) Muir and much loved father of Peter and Margaret, a loving grandfather to David and Amy and a very well respected member of the community and dear friend of many, sadly missed by all. Funeral service at Tarbert Parish Church (which now has disabled access), on Monday, May 9, at 12noon, interment thereafter at Carrick Cemetery, to which all friends are respectfully invited. Flowers or donations if desired to Marie Curie Cancer Care and Tarbert Parish Church.

STURROCK/HUTTON – (Oban / Tain). Peacefully in the loving care of her family at home, “Whitewish”, Drummond Street, Tain, on Saturday, April 30, 2022, Ellen Anderson Carnegie Leith, beloved wife of the late Malcolm John Hutton and the late William “Bill” Sturrock, a much loved mother of Malcolm and Brian, a dearly loved mother-in-law of Catie and Audrey, adored granny Oban to all the grandchildren and loved by all the extended family and friends. Funeral service will be held in Inverness Crematorium on Wednesday, May 11 at 1 p.m. to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please but donations if so desired may be given at the service for Tain Over 60s Club and Tain District Nurses or sent to Alasdair Rhind, Funeral Directors, Sutherland House, Bank Street, Tain or donate by bacs to RBS – s/c 83-27-35, a/c 00254580 Ref the late Ellen. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
HILL – June and family would like to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for the lovely cards, flowers and kindness shown to them after the sad loss of Ken. To the Lorn Medical Centre for the dignified care they always gave. Alyson Stewart for lovely graveside service and to all who paid their final respects at Pennyfuir. We would also like to thank Petals for the beautiful floral tributes and to Soroba House for the catering. All of the above was made more bearable by the care and compassion of D&A Munn. MACLELLAN – The family of the late Donald MacLellan would like to thank most sincerely relatives, friends and neighbours for the kindness shown to them following the sad loss of their Dad. In Oban, we thank Catriona from Hamish Hoey’s for her professional funeral arrangements and Fr. James for a lovely mass, Mary Catherine and the organist for the music and beautiful singing and all who attended. On Eriskay we thank Neil MacIntyre for the funeral arrangements and Fr. Crichton for his very fitting Requiem Mass, also the Politician for their excellent catering, the piper and all who attended St. Michael’s and the graveside and Petals in Oban for the beautiful flowers. We would like to thank everyone who helped Dad over the last few years, Dr. Bird and staff at Daliburgh Surgery, Dr. Waddington and staff at the Lorn Medical Centre in Oban and Eadar Glinn for their care, love and dedication during his time with them. The collection in Oban raised £370 for Eadar Glinn’s Residents Comfort Fund.

MORRICE – Amanda, Keiron and Mark would like to thank most sincerely all family, friends and neighbours for the lovely flowers, cards and messages of sympathy on the sad loss of their mum and Gran, Isobel. A special thank you to the nurses and staff in the high dependency unit, Belford hospital for the exceptional care given to Isobel. Thank you to Reverend Elinor Gordon for her comforting service held in the Duncansburgh Church, Fort William. To May MacIntyre the organist, Sandy Mackenzie the piper and McDonald Brothers for the floral tributes. Thanks to the Lochy Bar and Restaurant for their hospitality. Thanks to all at McLellan Funeral Directors for their care, compassion and professionalism. And finally, a special thank you to all who attended and gave so much support on the day. The sum of £471.39 was raised in Isobel’s memory and will be donated to the High Dependency Unit, Belford Hospital and Lochaber Macmillan Nurses.

STEVENSON – Pearl and family would like to send love and thanks to all friends for the cards, phone calls and flowers following the passing of Colin, dearly loved husband, father and Daps. A great comfort at this sad time.
