Arisaig, Kyle, Invergarry, Strontian, as well as Isle of Lewis and North Uist, are all scheduled to get a visit from Mowi’s ‘Salmon Wagon’ with 100 per cent of proceeds from sales going to charity.

The planned 2020 launch was thwarted by the Covid pandemic.

But, in what is hoped to be the first summer event since 2019, many charities and rural communities across Scotland are preparing to host major events after a two-year hiatus. And gearing up to feed the gathering crowds is Mowi Scotland’s eye-catching Salmon Wagon, kicking off on May 2 in Duror and Kentallen.

Serving up salmon fillet burgers and noodle salads, the wagon arrives at events fully stocked by Mowi and manned by its own chefs, meaning 100 per cent of proceeds from the sale of food benefits the chosen charities.

Announcing the 10 great causes that will welcome the fundraising food van in 2022,
Jayne MacKay, community engagement officer at Mowi Scotland, explained: ‘It’s been a frustrating two years but we are delighted to finally see the striking Mowi Salmon Wagon hit the road.

‘I think after what has been an extremely tough time for the country – not to mention
the cancellation of countless events that have traditionally raised vital funds for
communities – it will be great to get out to these gatherings and show our support for
charities across Scotland.

‘We are delighted to be working with the chosen 10 events and can’t wait to serve
up our tasty salmon to benefit local good causes.

‘It is really important to Mowi to support the communities we work in and see them flourish and this is just a small part of that.’
