MACCOLL – Peacefully at Lorn & the Isles Hospital on Friday, April 1 2022, Donald MacColl. Beloved husband to Ina. Dearly loved dad to Anne, father-in-law to Peter and loving papa to Archie and Harry, uncle, and good and kind friend to many. Graveside Service at Glen Shira Cemetery, Inveraray on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 1.00pm, to which all are welcome. Family flowers only. Special thanks to the staff in Ward A and B for their kind care. Sorely missed.
MACINDEOR – Lily passed away peacefully at Lorn & Isles Hospital, Oban on March 28, 2022. Sister of the late Jane, Colin and Iain and aunt to their children. Dear cousin to the late Captain David M McKelvie. Funeral service at St Modan’s Parish Church, Benderloch on Thursday April 7, 2022 at 12.00 noon thereafter to Achnaba Cemetery to which all are welcome. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers to Club nan Caraidean (Club Friends).
MACKECHNIE – Peacefully at Balfron on March 30, 2022 Donald (Donnie). Beloved husband of Helen, father to David, Scott and Eilidh, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Friend to many. Donnies’s funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8, at 11 am in Balfron Church. Followed by a piped cortège to Balfron Cemetery. All welcome. Donnie has asked that tartan be worn. MACLEAN – Peacefully at home on April 1, 2022 aged 85 years, Nellie (Gunn) beloved wife of the late Donald, very much loved mum, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, a dear sister, sister-in- law, aunty, and god mother. Sorely missed by all who knew her.
MENZIES – Helen Christina (née Kerr), (formerly of Pulpit Drive and Mossfield Drive). Peacefully in Dorset County Hospital on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. Beloved wife of Robert Menzies, dear mother to Alasdair and Mairi, grandmother to Eilidh and Elaina. All friends and family are welcome to attend funeral service, on Monday April 11, at 10:00am, St. Columba’s Cathedral, thereafter to Pennyfuir Cemetery. Donations in lieu to
ASHER – The family of the late Susan Asher would like to give their heartfelt thanks to everyone for all their support, cards, flowers, and messages of sympathy received following their loss. Thanks to all the team at Connel Surgery and the District Nurses in particular for their wonderful care during Susan’s short illness. Thanks to Hamish Hoey and Sons for their kindness and professionalism. Thanks to Belinda Braithwaite for conducting the service so beautifully and for providing wonderful support throughout. Thanks to the Lochnell Arms Hotel for providing the refreshments after the service. Thanks to everyone who attended the service, we can’t convey how much it meant to us to see you all there to give Susan such a wonderful send off. A total of £1940 was collected for Cancer Research UK (including £410 raised on the day of the service). Thank you to everyone for their generosity for such a great cause.
MACDONALD – The family of the late James MacDonald wish to sincerely thank all relatives and friends for the many Mass Cards, cards, letters, flowers, visits and telephone calls received on their recent loss of such a special man. Many thanks to Father David Connor and all the priests involved for a beautiful, personal service. Special thanks to all the Macmillan Nurses and to Glen Mor Medical Practice for their very caring attention looking after James during his illness. Thanks also to Jamie and Beth at Manson & MacBeath for all the funeral arrangements, the Railway Club for the catering and MacDonald Brothers for the lovely flowers. Special thanks to Andrew, James’ grandson for playing the bagpipes on such an emotional day. Sincere thanks to all who attended the funeral service and kindly donated so generously the amount of £1,400 split equally between St Mary’s RC Church and the Macmillan Nurses.
MACINTYRE – Rosemary and John, James and Cindy would like to thank all relatives, neighbours and friends for their kind messages, calls, and cards following the loss of Hugh. Thanks to the Carers, District Nurses, all at Craig Nevis Surgery, especially Dr. John Wallace. Special thanks to the Rev. Morag Muirhead and Rev. Rory MacLeod for their comforting service; to Mr. John Cameron, organist, for his Gaelic tunes; to McDonald Brothers for the beautiful flowers; to Scott and all at Greenlees & Son Funeral Directors for their support and efficient arrangements, and to The Moorings Hotel for the lovely teas and refreshments.
