On Sunday January 16, Reverend Roddie Rankin preached in Plockton Free Church, making his return after an absence of nearly two years.

The following Sunday, he also preached a service in Kyle Free Church.

Rev Rankin had a kidney removed in 2020 and subsequently needed a transplant. Luckily, his wife Margaret proved a suitable match and the operation was carried out in September, in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

The couple have three grown-up children and Mrs Rankin, who it a dentist, was home to Erbusaig four days after the operation and is also now back at work, while her husband returned home after six days.

Congratulations to Tommy Moore on his 80th birthday on January 9. Mr Moore was born in Plockton, where his mother owned the Plockton Hotel. He emigrated to Canada with his wife Chrissie, who is from Stornoway, in 1963.  They have returned to Plockton 15 times since then.
