CAMPBELL – Sadly but peacefully at home on Seil Island on Monday, December 27, 2021, Duncan (Dochie to his friends). Funeral service at Luing Parish Church on Monday, January 24, 2022, 12 noon and thereafter to Kilchatten Cemetery, to which all are welcome. Family flowers only. Sorely missed by all who knew him.
KEMP – Philip Hugh Kemp of Callander, passed away suddenly but peacefully Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on Sunday, January 16, 2022. The beloved husband of Margaret, a loving and much loved dad to the late Morven, father-in-law to Scott and the adored grandad to Lilly-Grace and Fearghas. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Callander Kirk at 10.30am, thereafter to Thornhill cemetery for approx. 11.15am, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. You are also invited to pay your respects as the cortège travels through Callander towards Thornhill Cemetery at 10.55am. Family flowers only donations if desired to Strathcarron Hospice.
MACDONALD – Peacefully, at home, surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 13, 2022, Elizabeth Jane (née MacNaughton), aged 75 years, dearly loved wife of Allan, loving mum of Charlie and Wendy, devoted granny to Katie and Angus, a much-loved sister, aunt, and friend. Funeral service on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 12noon in Arisaig Parish Church; thereafter to Beoraid Cemetery. Donations, if desired, to The River Fund and Arisaig Church Funds can be given at the service or forwarded to Greenlees & Son Funeral Directors, Kilmallie Road, Caol PH33 7AR.
MACLEAN – (Muir-of-Ord). On January 16, 2022, in Raigmore Hospital, Dr Iain Matheson Maclean (formerly of Argyll), beloved husband of Alexandra, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Funeral service private. Enquiries to D Gunn Funeral Home, Blackwells Street, Dingwall. Tel: 01349 863951.
CARSON – Lilian, Susan and Andrew would like to thank family, friends and neighbours for the overwhelming love and support shown to them during Les’ short illness and since his passing. The visits, cards, flowers, baking and other acts of kindness were much appreciated. Thanks also to the doctors, district nurses and carers for the amazing support which allowed Les to remain in his home, where he wanted to be. We are truly grateful. To everyone who lined the streets to pay their respects on his final journey to Oban, and all who travelled to attend his funeral at St. Oran’s and Pennyfuir cemetery. Thanks also to Lynette for the beautiful flowers, Angus McColl for his moving piping and to Soroba House for the excellent refreshments. Thanks to Rev Fred Booth for his caring support, and a special thanks to Jim Auld for his uplifting service. Also, to Jim and his team for the care, compassion, and guidance given to us at such a difficult time, nothing was too much trouble for them. To those who donated in Les’ memory, a total of £1,000 was raised and has been forwarded to Pancreatic Cancer UK. We will love and miss this very special man, always and forever.
McRAE – The family of the late Sheila McRae would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone who sent kind messages of sympathy and attended the services in Iona and Inverness. Special thanks to Rev Jenny Earl and Rev Joyce Watson for their comforting services and visitations. Grateful thanks to all the staff at the Macmillan Cancer Unit at Oban Hospital and the District Nurses on Mull for their unstinting help during Sheila’s illness. Thank you also to Billy McClymont for his caring guidance with all the funeral arrangements. Finally thank you to the St Columba Hotel, Iona and Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness for their hospitality. To all who donated, a generous sum of £1012 was raised for Iona Defibrillators & the Macmillan Unit at Oban Hospital.
WATTERS – Richard’s family would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended his funeral. Fr. Roddy and Fr. Stan for their caring service, Margaret for her beautiful singing, Graham and Donald for piping, John and James for ferrying us back and forth to the island, Jill for her catering, the NHS for all the attention but mostly to the carers who took such care of Richard, especially Linda. For all the cards, letters and phone calls, the undertakers Manson and MacBeath for the professional care and attention and McDonalds for the beautiful flowers. The sum of £745 was collected for MS.
CLARK – Treasured memories of our parents, Angus Ross Clark, who we lost on January 19, 2009 and our mum Peggy Clark (née Brown) who joined him on January 28, 2016.
