Oban lifeboat’s first call out of 2022 was to help a wingfoiler reported to be in difficulty out in Ardmucknish Bay.

The call came at 12.20pm on January 2 after a person on the shore lost sight of the wingfoiler in the bay and got concerned.

But when the volunteer crew found the experienced wingfoiler safe and well and enjoying the fresh south westerly wind, the call out was deemed a false alarm with good intent and the lifeboat returned to base.
