Oban Hospice has thanked pupils in the third year business studies class at Oban High School for raising £630 by selling the charity’s calendars.

Under the supervision of their business studies teacher Anna MacDonald, the students promoted and sold the successful 2022 hospice fundraising calendar at the school’s recent Christmas fair.

A group of pupils visited the Oban Hospice Dove Centre before the fair to find out more about the work of the hospice and how the money raised will support the local community.

The fantastic amount of £630 was achieved by the pupils, who were able to put the practical skills learned in their business studies class in to practice promoting and selling the calendars.

Oban Hospice Dove Centre co-ordinator Peter Darling said: ‘Once again, thank you to all the pupils and teaching staff involved, as well as former Oban High School teacher Elsa MacIver who made all the arrangements between the hospice and school for what was a great project. We very much look forward to further collaborative projects that will support the young people from our community in their studies and our hospice services.’
