BROGAN – David (Davie). Peacefully at the Lorn and Islands Hospital on December 19, 2021, aged 82 years. Much loved husband of Catherine Brogan, dad of Denise and Tracy and special papa to Morgan and Rowan. Funeral service at St Columba’s Cathedral on Friday, December 24, 2021 at 10.00 am, thereafter to Pennyfuir Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired for St. Columba’s Cathedral Fund.

CARMICHAEL – Peacefully at home after a brief illness on Sunday, December 19, 2021. Duncan Cameron Carmichael of Inverness, aged 81 years. Formerly of Kentra and Glasgow. Sadly missed by his wife Pat and family. Funeral service on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 3pm in the Funeral Home of William T Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness.

DOYLE – Donald. Peacefully surrounded by his family at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley on December 11, 2021, aged 78. Loving and much loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

KAY – Roseleen (Rosie) of Onich, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, on December 17, 2021, aged 74 years. Wife of the late Michael Kay. Much loved Mum of Michelle and Jacqueline and Grandma of Luis, Owen, Michael and Sophie.

MACCOLL – On December 8, 2021 peacefully after a short illness at Oban Hospital, Alistair MacColl, of Fanmore, Isle of Mull, in his 80th year, beloved dad of Alison, Stuart, Carole and Jillian and much loved grandpa of Kimberley, Megan, Iona, Angus, Elsie and Freddie. Will be greatly missed.

PATERSON – Betty of North Connel and formerly of Edinburgh died peacefully on Sunday, December 19, 2021 in the care of Etive House. Dear friend and companion of Elsa who was with her at the end of an illness which deprived this private, gentle lady of her dignity and also her memories. She leaves so many and different memories with Elsa, her cousin Wynne and family and her many friends. There will be a graveside service at Achnaba on January 5. Family flowers only are requested but if desired donations to Oban RNLI or Oban Mountain Rescue.

WILKINSON – Peacefully at home in Taynuilt on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, Janet Cameron née Inglis (Jan). Beloved wife of Brian. Dearly loved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, and good and kind friend to many. Funeral service at Muckairn Parish Church on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 1 p.m. and thereafter to Muckairn Kirkyard, to which all are welcome. Family flowers only. Sorely missed.

GILLESPIE – Kirsteen and family would like to thank relatives, friends and neighbours for the overwhelming sympathy and support following Moira’s untimely death. Special thanks to Rev Andy Campbell for his visits and uplifting service and to those who attended the church and Pennyfuir cemetery. Also thanks to Ian and staff at D&A Munn’s for their caring and professional service, Angela Guy for the beautiful floral tributes and Soroba House for the refreshments. The sum of £937.46 was raised in memory of Moira and will be divided between Teenage Cancer Trust and Oban Community Nurses.

KENNEDY – Johnny, Alan, Gary and families would like to thank all of the family and friends that provided support throughout Jean’s illness and also everyone for the cards, flowers, messages, kindness and support that they have received since Jean’s death. Special thanks to the support of the local district nursing and Macmillan cancer support teams throughout Jean’s illness, your kindness and positivity is something we will always be grateful for. Thanks to Rev. Morag Muirhead for a beautiful service, Jamie, Beth and the team at Manson & MacBeath for their caring and professional services, Shiona, Colin and Serena at McDonald Bros for the beautiful flowers and Meg and her staff at the Railway Club for your hospitality. Thank you to all who attended Jean’s funeral at the Duncansburgh MacKintosh Church and at Glen Nevis Cemetery thereafter, the turnout was overwhelming and the positive impact she clearly had on so many is of great comfort to us all. Donations received in Jean’s memory amounted to £1403.00 and this has been donated to Cancer Research UK and the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).

MACCOLL – The family would like to thank the staff at Oban hospital for their exceptional care during Alistair’s short illness. Thanks to Rev Liz Gibson for the lovely service and Billy McClymont for his sensitive and professional funeral arrangements. Finally thank you to everyone who paid their respects inside and outside Kilmore Parish Church, at the graveside and from a distance.

MACFARLANE – Elchris, Alastair and Elizabeth would like to thank everyone for the many expressions of sympathy and support following the death after a short illness of Donald (Dodo). Thanking Rev Peter Park for an uplifting service, doctors and staff at LIDH for patience, dignity and humour, ambulance crew, paramedics and community nurses. Thanks also to Catriona and staff of Hamish Hoey & Sons, Neil Kilpatrick, Angus MacColl and Oban & Lorn Strathspey and Reel Society for music. To Petals of Oban for floral arrangements, the Royal Hotel for catering and a big thank you to all who attended at the church and graveside.

REID – Allan and Fiona would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the kind messages of sympathy on Jessie’s passing. Thanks to all who attended the funeral, sorry we could not thank you in person due to Covid. Thanks to the Rev Peter Park for the lovely comforting service, to the staff at ward A Lorn and Islands Hospital for caring for Jessie in her last days. Thanks to Soroba House for the lovely food and surroundings after the funeral and thanks to Catriona MacFarlane for the caring and professional organising of the funeral. Thanks again Allan and Fiona.

WOOD – Thomas, Diane, Amanda and family would like to convey their heartfelt thanks to all relatives, friends and neighbours for the many cards, flowers and messages sent to them following their recent loss of their father Tommy. A special thank you to Etive House Care Home for the exceptional care given to our Dad during his stay and for your amazing mark of respect when lining the streets as we passed the care home on his final journey to Oban. Sincere thanks to Rev Richard Baxter for conducting a beautiful church service, to McDonald Brothers for their outstanding flower arrangements and Soroba House for their warm welcome and beautiful catering.
