MACDIARMID – Peacefully on Thursday, December 2, 2021, Capt. Alasdair Samuel, aged 65 years. Beloved and devoted husband of Karen, much loved dad of David and a loving brother and uncle of the family. MACFADYEN – Peacefully in the end at Raigmore Hospital on Sunday, November 28, 2021, Colin Malcolm MacFadyen, Stoneyholme, School Road, Conon Bridge, aged 76 years. Former manager Craigmonie Hotel and licensee Innes Bar. Much loved husband of the late Sheena, loving father to Paul, Grant, Alistair and Catrina, grandfather, dear brother, a true and great friend of many. Funeral service on Monday, December 13 at 2.00 pm in the funeral home of William T Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness, thereafter interment on Tuesday, December 14 at 12.30 pm in Blarour Cemetery, Spean Bridge. McGREGOR – Helen (Nellie), formerly of Scone, Perth passed away peacefully at Holmesview Care Home, Broxburn on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, aged 93. Beloved wife of the late Bill, dearly loved mum of Brian and Fiona and a much loved Grandma, Great-Grandma and mother-in-law. Funeral service at Perth Crematorium on Wednesday, December 15 at 2pm to which all relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please but donations if desired may be given to Alzheimer Scotland.
REID – Passed away at the Lorn and Islands hospital in Oban on Sunday, December 5, 2021, after a long illness, Jessie, daughter of Cathy (née Bell) and Doug Reid and sister of the late John Reid. A very special auntie and cousin she will be sorely missed by family and friends. Funeral will take place on Wednesday, December 15 at 1pm at the Parish Church, Oban. Thereafter to Pennyfuir Cemetery.
RODGERS – Eddie passed away very peacefully surrounded by his family at hospital in Tasmania on November 28, 2021 after a long illness. Much loved husband of Judy and proud and loving father of Peter, Euan and Hamish. Brother of Maggie, Ian and Sheena, Isle of Seil.
MAIN – Irene, Albert and family would like to thank everyone for the many expressions of sympathy and support received following the sudden loss of our dear son Christopher. Thanking Very Rev. Canon Margi Campbell and Rev. Beki Cansdale for an uplifting service and Cathedral organist and choir for excellent music. MACKENZIE – In memory of Fiona Gray Mackenzie, aged 67 years, who died peacefully in her sleep with her partner, Terry Just and sister, Margaret Mackenzie Bell by her side, in her beloved home at Dunmar Court, as morning broke on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, after a long illness which Fiona bore with courage, dignity and a keen sense of humour. Terry, Margaret and all Fiona’s family wish to express their deep appreciation to all those who have offered such kindness, support and messages of sympathy and comfort in their time of loss and sorrow. We especially wish to thank the following wonderful, exemplary people: all Fiona’s carers from Care Plus, the multidisciplinary group at Argyll and Bute Social Services, the staff of Lorn and Islands Hospital, the Medical Centre and Oban Hospice, and the wardens at Dunmar Court who all greatly helped Fiona throughout her long illness. Alyson Stewart, the humanist celebrant, Ian MacInnes and Shiralene Cave of Munns’ Funeral Services and Lynette MacArthur of Petals of Oban who assisted us with professionalism, attention to detail and compassion in our time of grief. Fiona will be deeply and sorely missed by all of us. Farewell! But not farewell to all my fondest thoughts of thee.
