Youngsters at Stramash Nursery in Oban are tucking into a Government scheme to get their fill of fresh fruit and snacks.

Graham West of Go Naked Veg supplies the Ganavan-based outdoor nursery twice a week with organic, plastic-free deliveries.

Mr West, whose shop in Stevenson Street has just marked its first anniversary, had started his own free fruit scheme before the Government announced its own healthy eating package for nurseries.

‘Healthy bodies, healthy minds,’ said Mr West, whose shop is an extension to the growing business that now delivers over to Mull.

Any nurseries and schools interested in finding out how Go Naked Veg can help them promote health eating and plastic-free living, should go visit Go Naked Veg’s website at

Briony McLaughlin  who is the co-team leader at Stramash said: ‘Our ideas as a nursery really align with what Graham is doing, encouraging people to eat healthily and enjoy foods that come without packaging. We’re also delighted to be supporting a local business.’
