Organisers of the Fort William Festive Fund were delighted when they saw ‘one ship come sailing in’, adding £750 to their Christmas lights funding target.

Owners of Cruise Lochaber, Neil Cameron and Colin Whitehead, had been watching online donations mount up over the months and stepped in on the eve of its closure with a donation of £750 to fulfil the dream of raising £8,000.

Members of the committee, suitably decked with Christmas tinsel, visited the bright orange ‘Elsie’ which ploughs up and down the Loch throughout the year for tourist trips, parties and functions to thank Neil and Colin in person. Photograph: Iain Ferguson, alba.photos.
