DEATHS
HUTCHISON – Donald Edward FICS, MCIHort. October 17, 1938 to November 15, 2021, peacefully at home with his family at Craobh Chuilinn, Appin, formerly of Kinlochlaich House and Gardens. Husband of beloved wife Susie, loving father of Fiona, Andrew and Claire, grandfather of Domhnall Aonghas, Marsaili, Seonaidh, Finn, Lochie and sixth grandchild on the way.
MACLEAN – Elizabeth the Lady Maclean died peacefully at home on October 17, 2021, aged 98. She was very much loved by all her family and many friends. Interment at Kilpatrick Cemetery on November 25 at 11.00am. All welcome and afterwards at Duart. Thanksgiving service to be held in the spring.
MACVICAR – Duncan MacVicar passed away peacefully in Forth Valley Royal Hospital on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 surrounded by his family. Duncan, aged 63 years, of Balfron Station, much loved husband of Jackie Kennedy, proud dad to his twin girls Kirsty and Katy, dad and best friend to Duncan. Service of thanksgiving will be held on Saturday, November 20 in Fintry Sports Club at 12 noon to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only, donations if desired to the Intensive Care Unit, Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
McPHEE – Peacefully at Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban, November 6, 2021, in her 79th year, after a short illness and surrounded by her loving family, Sandra, beloved wife of the late Alex, a loving mother, granny and great-granny. Rest in Peace.
MILTON – Peacefully at Strathcarron Hospice, Denny on Thursday, November 11, 2021, Ann Milton, aged 70 years, (née Payne). Dearly loved wife of Ian, much loved mum to Jill, Tracey, Karen and Graeme. Loving Nana, mother-in-law and aunt. Good friend to all who knew her. Funeral service at St.Mary’s Episcopal Church, Dunblane, FK15 0HQ on Monday, November 22 at 10.45am to which all friends are respectfully invited. The service will be followed by a private committal. Family flowers only please.
PAINE – Chris, (“Kip”), of Great Missenden, Bucks, at Cambridge Manor Care Home, aged 87. Loving husband for sixty one years of Irene, and father of Alasdair, Fiona and Katie. Son of Ronnie and Noel of Corran House, Onich, and brother of Sandy, Tim and Romy. Grandfather to Tom, Mark, Lucy, Emma, Alice, David, Emily and James. He and Irene loved their West Highland roots, to which they often returned, building Ardshellach, North Connel in 1970. We thank God for him.
SOMMERVILLE – Robert Alexander Cameron Sommerville 1935-2021. Lesley, Craig and Alan sadly announce the passing of their much loved and wonderful Dad, Cameron. A devoted husband to Anne, he was a true gentleman and his kindness, humour and love will be missed every single day. We could not have wished for a better Dad. Lauren, Joanna, Gregory, Neeve, Ailsa, Ewan and Eleanor have also lost a caring and loving Grampi. We will be celebrating his long and rich life on Tuesday, November 23 at 12 noon at Oban Parish Church, then Pennyfuir Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to join us.

GILLIES – Alastair Gillies and family would like to say thank you to everyone who was involved with caring for his late wife Mary Gillies. Our love, thanks, gratitude and so much more go out to so many, we would love to thank every individual person your compassion and time you have shown to Mary says it’s not just a job you do, so too everyone at the Mallaig GP Practice, the Paramedics who attended Mary on several occasions, Mackintosh Centre, Community Nursing Team, Care at Home, the Belford Hospital and Moss Park Care Home the support, advice and help we couldn’t have done it without you all. Final thanks to Amanda, Peter, John and team at McLellan Funeral Directors for such professional arrangements, nothing was too much trouble and from the start your care, support, time, compassion was truly outstanding. We will never forget your kindness. A loving wife, special Mam and always best Granny we all had, who will be forever missed, Rest in Peace.
MACNEIL – Stephen, Kenny, Iain, Martin and families thank you all who attended the Requiem Mass for our father and brother William Alexander (Willie) on November 12, 2021. We sincerely thank the Rt. Rev. Mgr James MacNeil for the funeral mass and prayers and blessings at the graveside. We also thank the organist and Catherine MacMahon for her singing. Thank you to Catriona and staff at Hamish Hoey and Son for the kindness and help to the family at such a sad time. Thank you to the gravediggers and to Geraldine for the beautiful family wreaths, altar flowers and flowers and petals at the graveside. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors and staff at Ward A at the Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban for their care and attention to our Dad. Thank you to the district nurses, carers and ambulance crew for their care and attention to Dad. Thank you to those who sent flowers, cards and phone calls and who donated to the Macmillan nurses. Thank you to the Royal Hotel staff for the beautiful spread of food.
MACQUEEN – The family of the late Sadie Agnes MacQueen would like to thank Fiona Cruickshanks, Maggie Brooks and The Elders of Kilbrandon Church for a most beautiful funeral service on Monday, November 1, 2021. Funeral Directors D & A Munn Ltd provided an outstanding professional and caring service to the great comfort of all. Thanks also to Tigh An Truish for excellent service and catering. The retiral plate resulted in a donation of £2035 to Easdale School Parent Forum.
