Kilmallie Shinty Club will be missing one of their strongest players next season with the departure of Stevie Stewart who is moving to England.

Stevie is heading for London with his partner Karla who is taking up a nursing post. As a joiner, he has also found a new job in ‘the big smoke’.

A powerful and skilled opponent of the pitch, Kilmallie manager Martin Stewart described him as a ‘rock’ in the team.

He said: ‘In our last two games, he was our best player and in Skye he controlled the game in middle of park, doing the same in our recent local derby, running the show.

‘He will certainly leave a big gap in our squad for 2022 and the Premier League. His ability obviously appreciated further afield too as I have had a message from London Camanachd inviting him to train with them, but not sure if he will take it on.’
