Assault

On Saturday November 6 at a pub in Oban, police responded to two separate reports of assault within the premise at about 11pm.  A 47-year-old and a 46-year-old were both arrested and charged – one with serious assault, the other with assault.  Reports are being submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Fail to stop

At 2.45pm on Monday November 8 outside the Royal Bank of Scotland, George Street, Oban, it is alleged that a parked car was struck by another vehicle.  Enquiries continue.

Charged

At 10.50 pm on Monday November 8 at an address in Sinclair Drive, Oban, police attended after a man allegedly assaulted a woman and smashed her mobile phone. A 34-year-old man was charged with the offences and is due to appear at Oban Sheriff Court.

Roadside check

At 9.30am on Tuesday November 9 near Dalmally, police stopped a vehicle on the A85 during a roadside check and found the vehicle had illegal tyres.  The driver, a man aged 53, was charged with the offence.  A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Enquiries continue

Between 11am and 3pm on Tuesday November 9 within Lorn and Islands hospital car park, Glengallan Road, Oban, it is alleged that a white campervan collided with and damaged an unattended parked car. Enquiries continue.

Threatening behaviour

At 9.10pm on Tuesday November 9 at a pub in Oban, police attended due to a man allegedly acting in a threatening manner towards patrons and having assaulted a staff member.  A 30-year-old man was arrested.  Whilst in the police station the man continued to act in a threatening manner and assaulted police officers.  He was charged with the offences and kept in custody to appear at Oban Sheriff Court.

Resist arrest

At 1.45am on Wednesday November 10 at an address in Combie Court, Glencruitten Road, Oban, police responded to a report of an ongoing disturbance.  A woman aged 21 was identified as allegedly responsible.  She also allegedly assaulted a police officer and resisted arrest.  She was charged with the offences and is due to appear at Oban Sheriff Court.

Vandalism

Between 9am and 11pm on Sunday November 7 at an address in Burnside Court, Miller Road, Oban, a window was vandalised.  Enquiries continue.

Theft of fuel

Between 10am on Wednesday November 3, and 9am on Tuesday November 9 at an address in St Conan’s Road, Loch Awe, heating fuel oil was stolen from a tank.  Enquiries continue.

Abusive behaviour

At 6pm on Wednesday November 10 at an address in Stevenson Street, Oban, police responded to a report of a disturbance.  A 30-year-old woman and a man, aged 31, were arrested, charged with the offence. A report is being sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Hit and run

Between 8.30am and 4pm on Wednesday November 10 at the North Pier, Oban, an unattended parked was struck by another vehicle causing damage. Enquiries continue.

Offensive weapon

At 3.05pm on Saturday November 12 at a hotel in Oban, police responded to a report of a man allegedly in possession of a bladed article in a public place.  A 22-year-old man was arrested with the offence and kept in custody to appear at Oban Sheriff Court.
