Speeding/no insurance

A 24-year-old male driver has been charged with speeding and having no insurance after his car was stopped by police in Taynuilt at 1.40pm on Friday October 29.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Speeding

A man, aged 19, was charged with speeding after he was stopped by police carrying out speed checks at Arrivain, Tyndrum, at 12.20pm on Saturday October 30.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Assault

A fight witnessed by police, at 1.05am on Sunday October 31, at Queens Park Place, Oban, resulted in a man, aged 33, being arrested and charged with assault. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Two man fight

Two men caught fighting at 1am on Sunday October 31, on Oban’s Corran Esplanade, were arrested and issued with recorded police warnings.

Threatening or abusive behaviour

After receiving a call from staff at midnight on Monday November 1, police attended the Lochavullin Bar, Combie Street, Oban, and arrested a woman, aged 34, for acting in a threatening manner towards staff and customers. The woman was issued with a recorded police warning.

Vandalism

Between 6pm on Tuesday October 26 and 6pm on Wednesday October 27, at Glen Lonan, Taynuilt, a car’s window wiper was vandalised. Enquiries continue and police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Suspicious activity

On three separate occasions between Sunday August 1 and Monday November 1, at an address in Barcaldine, people were seen acting suspiciously within private land. The suspects were driving a dark hatchback. Enquiries continue and police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Careless driving

A report is to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal after police charged a man, aged 26, for driving without due care and consideration by overtaking in a 30mph zone in Taynuilt at 11.22am on Tuesday November 2.

Theft

Timber railings were stolen from Skinners Shopping Centre, Crossapol, Isle of Tiree, sometime between 7.30pm on Sunday October 31 and 7pm on Monday November 1. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101 or anonymously at Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Speeding/tyre offence

Police stopped a car travelling at more than the 30mph speed limit in Connel at 9.30pm on Tuesday November 2.

A check of the vehicle revealed one of its tyres was below the legal tread depth. The driver, a man aged 23, was charged and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Road traffic offences

At 11.30pm on Tuesday November 2 police received a report of a man at an address in Benderloch driving a vehicle without the owner’s permission. A man, aged 36, was arrested  and charged with the offence along with driving without insurance, driving whilst disqualified and failing to stop at a red light. He was kept in custody to appear at Oban Sheriff Court.

Van stolen

A man, aged 36, has been charged with theft after a van was stolen from a driveway at Powel Place, Connel, sometime between 1.30am and 8am on Wednesday November 3. He was also charged with driving without insurance and driving whilst disqualified. He was kept in custody to appear at Oban Sheriff Court.

Threatening or abusive behaviour

At 3.30am on Wednesday November 3 police were called to Lorn and Islands Hospital, Glengallan Road, Oban, following reports about a patient acting in a threatening and abusive manner towards hospital staff. A man, aged 27, was charged and kept in custody to appear at Oban Sheriff Court.

Breach of undertaking

A man, aged 48, breached undertaking conditions set by Oban Sheriff Court by being in the presence of his partner in an Oban pub. The man was arrested and detained in custody to appear at Oban Sheriff Court.

Careless driving

Police are appealing for information after reports of a silver car being driven without due care and consideration causing pedestrians to take action to avoid being struck at 9.05am on Wednesday November 3 on the A828 near Lochnell Primary School, Benderloch.

Drugs

At 6.40pm on Friday November 5 at an address in Lorn Road, Dunbeg, a man, aged 18, was issued with a recorded warning after police recovered a small amount of herbal cannabis.

Threatening or abusive behaviour/resisting arrest

Police arrested a man at the Taychreggan Hotel, Kilchrenan, for attempting to fight with other guests and staff and resisiting arrest at 10.30pm on Friday November 5.

The man was detained in custody to appear at Oban Sheriff Court.

At 10.30pm on Friday November 5, at Beinn Lora Drive, Benderloch, police arrested a man, aged 39, for acting in a threatening and abusive manner. He was released from custody on an undertaking.

Threatening or abusive behaviour/vandalism

Police were called to reports of a man acting in a threatening manner towards his partner and staff and vandalising property at the Ardanaiseag Hotel at 12.45am on Saturday November 6.

The man was arrested and released from custody on an undertaking to appear at Oban Sheriff Court.
