A golf tournament organised by Oban Sports Shop has raised almost £900 for The Argyll Wellbeing Hub.
The business decided to stage the event following a good year of Adidas golf clothing and footwear sales to golfers, many of whom are members of Glencruitten Golf Club.
Billy Thomson told The Oban Times: ‘This was our first time hosting a golf event and we decided to support The Argyll Wellbeing Hub, with all proceeds from the entry fees, kindly donated by Glencruitten Golf Club, and our raffle going to the charity.
‘We asked our main golf supplier Adidas to help and they donated great prizes for the first, second and third teams which we supported with vouchers of our own.
‘Along with Oban Sports Shop, some of our other suppliers and other local businesses donated raffle prizes and we would like to thank them for supporting the event.’
Gavin Hill, Neil Allan and Kenny Campbell were the winning team, with the runners up only one shot behind and the third placed team only a single shot behind them.
‘Our thanks go to Glencruitten Golf Club and staff for all their work during the day and to everyone who entered and bought raffle tickets. The total sum raised was £888 which was donated to Argyll Wellbeing Hub,’ added Billy.
