Quickstep your way to Oban’s Argyllshire Gathering Halls for a vintage tea dance later this month.

That Swing Sensation, a ten-piece swing band from Glasgow, and The Catalina Sisters will get toes tapping from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday October 31 in aid of Link and Connect, the charity arm of Oban Link Club.

Tickets are £6 and include afternoon tea with home-baking to fuel up those dance moves. First come, first served.

To get your ticket go to BID4Oban or buy on the door.

A two-night hotel stay for two is also up for grabs as part of a grand raffle, as well as other top prizes including a cap and shirt from Oban’s professional golfer Bob MacIntyre and a tour of Glasgow’s Ibrox Stadium.

Funds raised will all go towards the upkeep of the group that has weekly meet-ups in town – on a Wednesday from 2pm until 4pm at the Baptist Church Hall, Friday from 11am to 2pm at The Perle Hotel and a well-being group at Hope Kitchen on a Thursday from 2pm to 3.30pm.

There area also plans to set up a soup group, run by Link Club members, for older people in the community or those who feel isolated.
