Another busy week of Highland Football saw Fort William FC face Buckie Thistle and Lossiemouth, writes Ally Rowantree.

Wednesday past was another trip to forget as the team suffered a heavy 9-1 defeat at the hands of Buckie.

The home side took a 3-0 advantage in the first half before Fort pulled one back with a great ball over the top from Darren Brew to set up Robbie Foster who got past his man and on his left foot from a really tight angle, put it in the top right hand corner.

That moment was the only bright spark of the game for Fort William though as Buckie put the game to bed early in the second half with a couple of quick goals after the restart and the job was made even harder when Joseph Kalbah received a booking for a foul, then a second yellow for dissent, leaving Fort William with ten men at 5-1.

Buckie then ran out comfortable 9-1 winners.

Despite conceding nine goals credit has to be given to Fort keeper Mateusz Kulbacki for his two great penalty saves during the match.

Fort William then visited Grant Park to play Lossiemouth on Saturday.

Despite enjoying some good spells during the game, the team were unable to convert the chances they created and before the half time whistle, Lossiemouth won a penalty with Ryan Sewell scoring from the spot in the 43rd minute. Then a Brodie Allen goal in the 63rd minute sealed the three points for Lossiemouth. Final score 2-0 to Lossiemouth.

Next up for Fort William is a trip to play Turriff United this Saturday at 3pm.
