Countryfile fans will need to tune in this Sunday to see if the show’s presenter Steve Brown managed to fulfil a lifetime ambition and see a white-tailed eagle.
The BBC One programme featuring the island’s famed and varied wildlife will be screened on October 17 at the earlier time of 5.10pm.
Mull’s RSPB officer Dave Sexton said meeting Steve on his eagle quest was a great experience – despite the appalling weather on the day. But viewers will have to watch for themselves to find out whether it was mission possible or impossible.
Dave said: ‘The BBC Countryfile crew couldn’t have picked a wetter, more miserable, dreich day if they’d tried! It was lovely and sunny the day before and the day after but on the day of filming it rained hard and continuously from start to finish. It was touch and go whether we could find a white-tailed eagle for the presenter Steve Brown. You’ll just have to watch to see if he achieved his life time ambition as he’d never seen one before.’
