The first community vaccination clinic offering separate influenza and Covid-19 booster vaccinations was held at Ionaid Stoodie in Garrabost, Point, last week.

Almost 100 over-65s were invited to attend on Monday October 4, with more attending the following day.

Married couple Iain and Anne Ferguson from Portvoller were delighted to receive the double vaccinations at the clinic.

Anne said: ‘We receive our flu vaccination every year and have already had our two Covid vaccinations. We didn’t experience any problems when we received our vaccinations and are thankful to the NHS for offering them to us. We would encourage anyone being offered the vaccinations to not hesitate in getting theirs.’

Further clinics are being organised at Uig, Ness, Carloway, Tarbert, Balivanich and Castlebay. The full schedule can be viewed at www.coronavirus.wi.nhs.scot or view direct at https://bit.ly/3A8JbIb

For those eligible for the flu or Covid booster vaccine, NHS Western Isles will invite you directly when it’s your turn.
