Auchtertyre Primary School was delighted to welcome its new primary one pupils, pictured, for the start of the term recently.

The school was opened in 1990 bringing together the pupils and staffs of Achmore, Dornie and Lochalsh Primary Schools.

The school has a very wide catchment area, stretching from from Balmacara, through Auchtertyre, Nostie and Ardelve to Sallachy and Killilan on the west shore of Loch Long and Dornie on the east shore of Loch Long and in the north through Achmore, Stromeferry to Ardnaff.
