DEATHS
ANDERSON – Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on September 22, 2021, Catherine Anderson, “Kitty”, née MacLachlan. Much loved and will be sadly missed by all. Memorial service at Clincarthill Parish, 10 am, Thursday, September 30. Funeral service, 11 am, Friday, October 1 at St. John’s Church, Port Ellen, Islay: burial thereafter at Kilnaughton Cemetery. Requesting family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.

DAVIDSON – David Peter. The family of David Peter Davidson wish to announce with great sadness his sudden passing at home in Orgiva, Spain on September 7, 2021, aged 75. Beloved husband of Jackie, father to Jane, Nicola and Alison, and stepfather to Derek and Jochem, brother to Ann, Michael and Peter. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Born in Millport, Isle of Cumbria, he spent a large part of his life on Seil and the West Coast before retiring to Spain. A marine engineer and forever a seaman at heart, he will be sorely missed. In time he will be laid to rest in his beloved Argyll. We would like to thank friends, relatives, and neighbours for the kind and thoughtful expressions of sympathy.

MACKENZIE – Margaret, dearest wife to Iain, mum to Laura, sister to Fodie and dearly loved aunt and friend to many, passed away at home in Ballachulish September 22, 2021, aged 81. Margaret’s funeral took place at St. John’s Church on Monday, September 27. Donations were made to Alzheimer’s Research UK.

McINTOSH – (Inverness). Sadly at Castlehill Care Home, Inverness on September 25, 2021, Peggy McIntosh, aged 87 years, 16 Cradlehall Court, Inverness. Loving wife of the late Ian McIntosh, a much loved mum of Mairi, Margaret and Grace, dearly loved mother-in-law, gran and great gran. Funeral service on Friday, October 8 at 12.30pm in the Barn Church, Culloden; thereafter to Kilvean Cemetery. All very welcome to attend. Family flowers only please. Donations are invited for Alzheimer Scotland at the service, or forwarded to the Funeral Directors; John Fraser & Son, 17-29 Chapel Street, Inverness, IV1 1NA.

SHARP – On September 23, 2021, Grizelda (Elda), née Yeoman, at Lorn and Islands Hospital after a short illness. Beloved wife of the late Hugh and much loved mother of Catherine and Laura. Very sadly missed.

SUTTON – (Annat). Suddenly but very peacefully at Abbeyfield, Ballachulish on Thursday, September 23, 2021, Sheila aged 100 years, beloved wife of the late Mick, a much loved mother to Carol and Chris, devoted grandma to Callum and Euan, beloved granny to Tim, Gill and Craig and a cherished great-grandmother to ‘bump’. Funeral service at Kilmallie Parish Church, Corpach on Monday, October 4 at 12 noon. Sincere thanks from all the family to the G.P. and carers who supported Mum at home and then the staff at Abbeyfield, Ballachulish for their dedication and care over the last five months and for making such a stimulating and wonderful environment in such challenging times.

WHITELAW – Michael (Big Mick) died peacefully in Oban Hospital on Sunday, September 26, 2021, surrounded by his closest family. He will be missed by so many.

BEARD – In loving memory of Adrian Beard, an amazing man. Husband, Dad and friend to so many. Angela, Fergus and Finlay wish to sincerely thank the friends, relatives and the amazing communities of Oban, Connel, Fort William and beyond for their endless kindness and support. Thanks to Reverend Willem Bezuidenhout for the most beautiful services at the funeral and the crematorium and for his spiritual comfort and support over the last eighteen months. CAMPBELL – Ian and the family of the late Sheila would like to thank all friends and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy, cards, flowers and telephone calls after their sad loss. Grateful thanks to everyone at Etive House Care Home for their care and attention to Sheila. Thanks to Rev Dugald Cameron for a lovely service, to Hamish Hoey & Son and to Soroba House.

IRVINE – The family of Valerie Irvine, Tobermory, would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the many phone calls, flowers, cards, and words of condolence. Thanks to Mull Funeral Services for being highly professional and caring and the Rev. Liz Gibson on a wonderful job honouring Val’s life. Special thanks to the outstanding care shown from all on Ward B and Macmillan Outpatients in Oban Hospital during Val’s illness. Park Lodge for the fine catering provided. To everyone who attended the funeral which helped raise £855 for Macmillan nurses.

LOWE – The family of William Nicolson Lowe wish to warmly thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for all the beautiful cards, flowers, kind expressions of sympathy and uplifting anecdotes. Thank you to all who joined us at Greenock Crematorium, Tobermory Cemetery and in Connel to pay their last respects to Willie. Thanks also to our Civil Celebrant, Ceci Alderton, and Father James MacNeil for their consoling and inspiring services, and to Ann Barlow for her heartfelt musical tributes at the graveside. We would also like to extend our thanks to the wonderful staff at Ardnahein Care Home for their thorough, dignified and loving care of Willie during the last three years of his life. Thanks also go to Claire and Isla Grierson for their kind hospitality and to Dawn McBay for her love and support as always. Thank you to Chloe and Lynda of Caladh Funeral Directors, Dunoon, for leading us so attentively through the funeral arrangements and The Woodland Forest, Dunoon, and Petals of Oban for the beautiful floral displays. Many thanks also to the Tontine Hotel, Greenock, and the Falls of Lora Hotel in Connel for the catering. Willie leaves us with many happy memories, a legacy of music and a true example of good citizenship. He will remain in our thoughts forever.

MORRISON – On behalf of the Morrison family, we wish to thank you for your many kindnesses and cards, for the condolences and support that we have received after the passing of Malcolm and Mary Morrison.
