Radio enthuisasts in the Uists can now listen in to Radio Skye, which normally serves the Misty Isle and Lochalsh.

The frequency was once used by An Radio, when it was based at East Camp in Balivanich, in close proximity on FM with BBC Radio nan Gaidheal.

Radio Skye staff say the station transmitter on the island was upgraded towards the end of last year and are very happy with the results.
