This week’s Oban Times is packed with photos and reports from Oban’s 150th Games also featuring a right royal visitor Princess Anne. We also have news from over on Mull where boatowners are being urged to check for stowaways of the rodent or mink type before they set out on the waves. Such unwanted visitors as rats could seriously endanger the seabird colonies on Staffa and the Treshnish Islands – daytrippers are also being encouraged to check their bags and keep their sandwiches and picnics sealed safely away. And we hear of potentially more delays over a move to put Oban Bay under a single responsibility, community-led harbour authority.
