Fort William Football Club had two fixtures postponed as a result of Covid.

A mid week tie with Nairn County and Saturday’s tie with Brechin City FC were called off.

Despite no football on the pitch, manager Ashley Hollyer and his players kept an eye out for who they will be playing in the first round of the Scottish Cup.

Scotland rugby coach Gregor Townsend pulled out the names and handed Fort William a trip to face East Stirlingshire.

In the higher leagues for many a season before relegation a few years ago, East Stirlingshire will provide tough opposition and the Fort will have to give it their all to advance in the competition. But that’s the magic of the cup where any team can beat another on the day.

Fort William will travel to play the lowland league team on Saturday September 18.
